Retrieve Your NIN Slip with the Phone Number Linked to Your NIN
Forgotten your NIN, or lost the slip it was printed on? If you still have the phone number that was linked to your NIN at enrolment, you can use it to get your slip back. Enter that 11-digit number on Verifyplatform, choose Regular, Standard or Premium, and when a matching record is found the NIN slip, showing your NIN, is returned as a PDF straight away.
About NIN Slip by Phone Number
The search only works with the number registered on the NIN record. A new SIM, a relative's line or a number that was never linked will not return a result, and not every number finds a match. When nothing is found, the full amount is returned to your wallet automatically, and if you later find your NIN you can print with it directly. Phone searches return the PDF slip only; the on-screen details card, the Basic slip and the vNIN slip need the NIN itself.
This service is for retrieving your own NIN record, or one whose holder has clearly consented, for a lawful purpose. It must not be used to look up other people's identity details. Verifyplatform is an independent service platform, not NIMC, and processes requests through licensed channels.

Frequently asked questions
How can I check my NIN with my phone number online?
Open NIN Verification on Verifyplatform, select 'Phone Number', choose a slip and enter the 11-digit number linked to your NIN with your transaction PIN. If a record matches, your NIN slip PDF, which shows your NIN, is returned immediately. NIMC's own USSD code *346# is another option if you only need the number itself.
Can I print my NIN slip with my phone number?
Yes. Regular, Standard and Premium slips can be printed using the phone number linked to your NIN. Basic and vNIN slips are only available when you search with the NIN.
Why was no NIN found for my phone number?
The number must be the one registered on your NIN record at enrolment. If you changed lines, used someone else's number, or the number was never linked, no record will be returned. You are refunded automatically in that case.
Can I check my NIN with my phone number without the SIM card?
Yes. No code or OTP is sent to the line, so you only need to know the number, not have the SIM in your phone. It still has to be the number linked to your NIN.
Can I check another person's NIN with their phone number?
Only with that person's clear consent and for a lawful purpose, for example an agent helping a customer who is present. The service must not be used to look up other people's identity details without their permission.
Am I charged if my NIN is not found?
No. If no record is found or the request fails, the amount is returned to your wallet in the same request.
